Electromagnetically-induced transparency for quantum optical information processing

We report storage and retrieval of pulsed squeezed vacuum in rubidium vapor using electromagnetically-induced transparency. For the first time, complete tomographic characterization of the quantum state after the storage procedure has been performed, making our setup a universal test bed for a generic quantum optical memory system.
